does it play if the E-brake is off? Or do you have to bypass it?

@paxxill No video will play if you do not have your E brake engaged or the unit bypassed.

Just a question - does the visualizer you set up act as a screen saver? So say I'm playing a song does it automatically play the visualization or do you have to put in on manually each time you play a song?

No this is simply a video just like any other video playing from my iPod.
