  • after you have got the engine running, its best to get the 2 carbs synchronised (or balanced) you can buy an airflow meter quite cheaply like im using in the video, and take readings from the carb mouth. There is a screw inbetween the carbs on the linkage which you turn, until both sets of throttle butterflys are synchronised (equal air flowing through both carbs on tickover) after you have got the carbs synchronised, then you can look at the mixture screws...

  • Thank you :-)

  • So they should all syncronize from that one screw correct? you dont do each carb independently? Very much appreciate the advice man. Hopefully get the old girl running a bit sweeter. Much to learn about carbs yet.... Tez.

  • alright dude. I'm after some tuning tips for a set of twin 40's. Running same engine as yourself in a MK2 Escort. To syncronize air flow do you adjust using the idle mixture screws or is there other adjusment screws i need to look at? Any help would be much appreciated cheers. Tez
