Week 1 with Incognito Braces in San Diego

I made it! I was told that it could take up to two weeks before I was comfortable with my braces on and it took only 5 days of wearing wax all the time to now not having to wear any and enjoying a plate of cheese enchiladas with rice and beans - real food!

I have to thank my closest friends that have helped me throughout this... Wax and Soft Foods! But seriously - the wax that I got here at The Super Dentists is better than any other wax out there - trust me - I tried several different types and fell in love with one in particular because it is perfect for Incognito. Soft food such as apple sauce, yogurt, Ensure and smoothies was what I ate for 5 days and this might be the best secret out there to losing weight fast!!! LOL

Here is a link with the Rainbow Passage to help you learn to speak correctly - just the first two paragraphs are the most important. Keep reading it out loud and train your tongue to become used to having the metal on your teeth and you will do great!

Overall I am loving my braces and the fact that I am in treatment and no one ever knows! I will update everyone on a weekly basis and then starting the week of July 19th I will be only doing monthly updates and showing pictures on how my teeth are moving.

Comment here and I'll answer everyone's questions or concerns...plus I would love to know if there is anyone else that is going through treatment with Incognito with me -- I would like to hear their feedback also!

@NERALY123 there was only discomfort for about a week after they put them on because my tongue was getting used to having braces on the backside of my teeth and my teeth already started moving. :)

@NERALY123 it didn't hurt when they put it on and it took a few days to get used to having braces on but I'm SOOOO happy that my teeth are finally getting straight - I just need to remember to wear my bands so I don't delay having my braces taken off any longer ;)

I need one implant on the upper jaw and 3 implants on the lower jaw..-4 missing teeth-

Is it better to get Incognito first to straighten my teeth before getting my implants? Or could it be done after I get the implants? what is usually suggested?

@torero34 Yes, it’s best to do the braces first before placing the implants.

@JayRedzNYC nah 4 grand 4 a years treatment i only have 2 more visits then there off and my teeth look perfect now and they were really really crooked

@JayRedzNYC this is a great question and there are just a few factors to consider when it comes to the payment of your braces and on what you can afford - your Treatment Coordinator at the Orthodontist you choose to go to should be willing to work with you and what you can afford during the time that you are in treatment.
