  • I feel the defeander is getting hit time after time...

The lead was straight to the nose (in real life) I mean how can you defeand yourself with your hands so low...you would be late time after time!

But its nice to watch...its like acting (if you do this, Ill do that...

  • I'm glad you like it. ;)

  • are you sure this is kihon kumite? cause i think the attacker in kihon kumite only attack once... =)

  • This is Kihon Kumite. The term just means "basic sparring", so it can probably vary a whole lot between different martial arts. Maybe you're thinking of Ippon Kumite, "one step sparring"?

  • I might be wrong, But I think kihon is 3 step, as opp to ohyo kumite which is 5 step, or ippon ( one step)

  • Again, kihon just means basic. Sanbon is three step. Ippon is one step as you say. I don't know what ohyo means, but they are not five step in wado at least, they are more like fighting oriented techniques with quick combos and foot sweeps and such.

  • @flogonash I think you mean Kihon kumite no.1 in which the attacker attacks one time. In the others, he does it more frequently

  • @juslikekarate shoboo is three and ippon i one as fare as i know but thts is in free sparing ie a tournament hope that helps :)

  • ofcourse its kihon kumite how dare you question the master!

  • @juslikekarate Kihon is basic, numbers will dictates that you have categorized you movements. Otherwise , Gohon will be 5, Sanbon 3, nihon will be 2 and ippon will be one.......

  • @ikokujin It's 'Kihon Gumite' not kihon kumite. In wado there are 10 kihon gumite. Originally there were 30 and were called Kihon Gata. They are advanced wado fighting drills focusing on close quarters defence and counter attacking vital points. Ohyo Gumite generanlly refer to semi-freefighting drills.

  • this guy is really good

  • this is kihon gumite in the wado system, where ohyo gumite simply means applied techniques. There are 10 kihon gumite, currently over 35 kumite gata, and ohyo is whatever the practitioner feels, though Suzuki Sensei produced his own. In Wado it doesn`t really matter how many steps you take, only the application of fighting principles and their understanding.

  • As a Wado practitioner of twenty years I can tell you that kihon gumite is designed to teach fighting principles. It`s meant to be practised as kata and is the fighting heart of the Wado system. Don`t ever look at it as just self-defence because it is so much deeper than that, as two-man kata is in judo. If you understand principles of combat, such as sen, sen no sen, and go no sen, your understanding of application is much deeper and more spontaneous. Don`t just think he does this, we do that

  • i love doing kihons cuz they are fast pace and i train to move fast or get hit cuz u lern quick
