My dad also bought this album when I was in band (6th grade or so ).. I even went to an Al Hirt concert in Beaumont Tx and got to go backstage and meet him and get his autograph.. always loved this song ... !
My Dad bought this LP, along with Sugar Lips, for me, when I was a 7th grade trumpeter in the St. Margaret Mary Elementary School Marching Band - we were horrible, and so was I!!!
But, man, I played Jumbo's 2 records! Good thing Dad didn't bring home some Maynard - I might NEVER have recovered from THAT!
I went on to find - and love! - MF, in High School - trumpeting has never been quite the same ever since! Glad I had a private trpt teacher then, so I didn't need several decades of therapy!
My grandmother bought this album for me on vinal when I was very young because she got confusing thinking that I played trumpet when I was a Trombone player. I havn't heard this for thirty years! Thank-you sooo much for posting!
Al Hirt with the Marty Piach orchestra! WOW, what a combination! Hirt has awesome control and feeling! This guy could do it all!

So nice. I'm glad Al didn't go crazy loud and high at the end of this one, like he sometimes did with others.
