If you've got leaky rooms, stack effect's gonna be your doom.... No one on the corner's got solar like us, we're rocking PVs but efficiency's a must. I think I'm in love! This is what I do for a living, and you just made my job feel even BETTER than it already does! Efficiency first; now let's pick that low-hanging fruit!

righteous beats, snappy lyrics....hate to be a killjoy, but wrong message. as the captain points out, most people will never EVER see payback on replacement double panes...and they will rot or have seal failure long before they come close to paying for themselves. it is folly and ungreen to toss original windows. let the acid-bombing of this point now begin--but those who disagree, please reveal your role in the replacement window game.

Be carefull cap'n on those insulated window treatments. If installed on the inside, insulative blankets can destroy the window. Think about it, you now have insulation on the wrong side of the vapor barrier (in the case of windows, the glass it self is the barrier), thus the humidity from inside the building migrates onto the window, condenses out, freezes, rots the window, super bad news. However, if you can find an insulated shutter (outside) that can be closed easily, you are in the money!!
