Sweet set up, I am thinking about using the same servos on an EDF f-18 and was wondering will they stand up to wind force and have enough torque to work well with a higher speed aircraft? I notice they are pretty easy to move by hand ?? any info on these servos would be great, those flaps are awesome

Honestly, I wouldnt know how well theyd hold up on an EDF. The Apprentice weighs 3lbs flight ready and when I deploy the flaps, the plane is pretty slow anyway. The most stress the servos take is when I use them to take off or abort a landing and throttle up.

would not recommend spinning the drive shaft if you do not have the counter weight of the props on, you could easily over speed the motor and then say hello to another 60 dollar investment....

@elmarko41 As you can see in the still photos at the beginning the video, the hinges are centered (top-to-bottom) and spaced evenly right-to-left. The reversing Y-Connector is great. It allows you to install your flap servos the same way on each wing. This really helps to make the setup easier and it looks much cleaner. The Y-connector also has a small adjustment screw that allows you to fine-tune the servo arm travel on one servo so you can match the throw of the flaps exactly.

@tkrahlin are you hidges in the middle or the top of the cut for the flaps , I want them to match the way the ailerons look and work! Also does that reversing Y really work?

just wondering if these flaps does it slow the plane down for a slow and easier landing? did u have to add anything extra for the servos to work or did they plug into the reciever in the extra spots ?
