  • Something strange happened in my trousers when that freaking wicked sounding powerband kicked in.

  • With the same level of development a 2 stroke would win. No ifs ands or buts. Problem is that at the moment the 4 strokes rule the roost. with direct injection to clean them up the 2 stroke will return and beat 4 strokes. 10 years ago the 500cc 2 strokes were putting out 190hp the modern 800s need 300cc more and way more revs to get to 240hp. If they had kept developing the 2 strokes the 500cc bikes would be at 240hp too and with the same electrics etc. to make them not such beasts to ride.

  • @MetricHotrodsdotcom It wasn't really the big four... it was just Honda being a spoiled brat.

  • 120 whp?

  • @danielsonn77 I agree but it would be one of the best 300 yards ever.

  • @hunghuge12 it would probably sound something like 12 KH500 5 cylinders all lined up next to each other and blow up after 300yards with a 0-60 time of 0.00002 :D

  • yeeeeeaaah go on give it ehh...

  • @Scootertuner1000 Yeah and the 2T is always way lighter for a given CC so really the 500's were only about as big and heavy as somthing like a 200cc 4T would be. Stick them at the same weight as the 800's and you would be able to run about a 1200cc 2T. With the amount of development thrown into 4T's over the last decade that should be good for around 500hp. But even better - imagine the sound of an 8-cyl 2T. :o)

  • two stroke rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tschienes Iwas thinking exactly the same thing.

  • @MetricHotrodsdotcom I agree with most of what you said except developmental dead end. We can see from DiTech Aprilia scooters that 2 strokes have/had a lot of development left. A Ditech SR50 (I know it's only a scooter, but it proves a point) will do 62mph, burns cleaner has better MPG than 50cc 4 stroke scooters. In fact it will out run and outperform 4 stroke 125 scooters in almost every aspect. All that has to be done is turn off the restrictor on the fuel injection.

  • Respond to this video... if there is a finger to be pointed in the death of the two stroke, its the japanese bean counters working at the big four. they saw a marketing opportunity and increased profits with the 4 strokes, and they grabbed the AMA and FIM by the balls to cater to their profits. if you want to fight back its simple. buy KTM motocross bikes and aprilia 2 stroke 125 street bikes. do not purchase four strokes or anything japanese. when their profits fall...
