  • I agree with the comments about the use of the gas grill - I think the reason she needs all of the sweet ingredients is that there is no flavor from the smoke! With a nice mesquite/hickory and charcoal fire just a little brown sugar or juice would be all you need.

  • That's gas grilled. Wood or charcoal is barbecued! FAIL!!! lol

    Best left for 2 days marinading. Served with Dauphinoise potatoes and green beans is the best.

    Funny my Aunty must know your Grandma, as she cooked this for me in 1992 in Wagga Wagga.

  • I like the marinade - will use the pineapple, not the brown sugar.

    But every bbq vid from Aus uses a gas burner - that's not BBQ!

    Note to video maker, using gas is "grilling" using Charcoal is Bar-b-Q
