The videos shows a pictorial representation of the firing of hippocampal neurons (CA3). The view is from overhead when a rat is running on a maze. The rats position is indicated by the white circle. The reddish areas indicate the firing rate of hippocampal neurons with place fields at that particular point of the maze.

At the choice point, firing sweeps down both arms away from the rat before the rat chooses a particular arm.

The authors use this as evidence for prospective coding in the hippocampus.
