Training in Virtual Worlds

First responders who work along Interstate 95 have been training for emergencies inside a virtual world developed by the University of Maryland's Center for Advanced Transportation Technology. Researchers have designed the software in such a way that police, firefighters and EMTs are presented with the same types of variables that they would encounter in real life.
