Just testing out my HP Laptop and webcam. I'm just using some microsoft mic for the sound. Equipment is a '96 Gibson Les Paul Studio and Vox AD30VT on the USHIGAIN channel which is supposed to emulate the Soldano SLO lead channel. My favorite! Don't knock the playing! I'm kinda messy but the point was just to see how the tone sounded recorded.

  • Hey, how did you get this sound? I mean which preset and the levels

  • @1argeth1 On USHIGAIN model: Gain, 2:00. Volume, 11:00. Treble, 1:00. Mid, 10-11:00. Bass, 2:00. Master, CRANKED. Delay on the default settings. Attenuator pretty much up to you. I had it pretty loud. That's mostly it if remember correctly. I don't use this amp much anymore. I have the new VT50 model now. :)

  • To get a really good sound do you need to have 50w or higher? Or is the 30w OK?

  • It really depends on what you're after. For a practice amp the 30w works fine. It'll definitely be loud enough to suit your needs. It's also easier to tote around as well. However, if you plan on gigging with it, 50w is the better choice. The larger speaker helps at higher volumes and might sound a tad bit better. I'm not exactly sure though because I haven't tested both side by side before. I'm planning on getting one at some point when I have money to burn.

  • vox roxx

  • vox ad30vt or roland cube 30

  • no way! higher wattage does DEFINATELY not make the sound better.

have you seen the orange tiny terror (15w)

  • Ehm... I play in a band (Guitar/Keyboards) and I dont have a amp yet (going to buy the 30vt) but our bassist had a roland cube 30x and I usually don't put it over half because its much too loud if I turn it up higher, the other guitarist has a 120 watt marshall fullstack i think. And well, he plays kinda loud too and the roland can handle it fantastically. Because they say the Vox is even louders the 30 watt should be more than enough for band practise situations, (mic it up for gigs).

  • 50w won't give you much difference volume-wise, but if you're going to be playing with a band or practicing with a drummer, etc., you'll want at least a 50w. The main difference is the 50w won't break up as much at higher volumes.

  • NIce riff! Loved the chunk, and pinch harmonics.

I rarely plug up the half stack, anymore. I have a AD15VT, that usually does the trick, when I feel the need to break out my LP custom.

  • I have one of these. Thanks for your advice. Sounding great!
