  • @shtony2717 A civil war is a war between organized groups within the same nation state , or, less commonly, between two countries created from a formerly-united nation state.the american civil war was a bit unusual because it was fought around regional identities, rather than political ideologies. Still it was a civil war.

  • @Mokite22 No...they didn't have a chance. They were outnumbered not only when it came to troops but resources as well. The North was too much.

  • At that point it is no longer a "Civil War". A "Civil War" is two or more factions fight for control of the same government, which didn't happen. We wanted our own independence, formed our own military, government, and even constitution. So that being said, it was the War of Southern Independence, not the American Civil War.
