@Blackhammer99 i believe it's acceptable to play differently when playing on the letterman show for letterman fans, rather than playing in small venues for Bon Iver fans. it is hard to see what point you are making, possibly that in small venues everyone is more lively? not sure if thats a good word. but i would think, coming from a cabin in the woods and small venues, it might be a bit different once you are on a tv show watched by millions

Well, thanks for your opinion. This is a small part of a much bigger argument though, which can be found on my profile page, if you are interested.
You have all made interesting points, and have to concede, as I have not seen many other bands perform on his show... so must agree that for some reason, the show requires you to not give the same type of performance you are capable of.
Too me, it still looks like he is trying to uphold an image, though.
But hey, no one really knows!
