Gun Confiscation - clip from Washington, You're Fired

At the orders of New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin, the New Orleans Police Department, the National Guard, DEA, ATF and U.S. Marshals began breaking into people's homes at gunpoint, confiscating lawfully-owned firearms, and in many cases, evicting the residents from their own homes.

Most Americans believe that of all their civil rights, the one that they would never have to fear losing would be their 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms. However, in the wake of a declared state of emergency, when gun confiscation can legally take place, how do you draw the distinction between disarming law abiding citizens and the true criminals at large? and an even better question is... How do you justify removing someone's only line of defense in a time of true crisis where ownership of a firearm may become your only way of defending you, your family and your property from death and destruction?

If 50 thousand armed , united , determined , law abiding citizens asserted their 2nd amendment - constitutional right...The local / state gov would have either backed off or had to fight 50 thousand , well armed and trained Patriots .

@jab12S Excellent suggestion . You know it would have to be an informal list of people because it'd be called a threat & terrorist group if they got a chance to break it up. I hope people recognize these domestic threats. This may have been done with good intentions but we all know what the road to hell is paved with!

I find this REPULSIVE. It literally makes me sick to think that I would have my weapons and family forcefully removed from my land. All the more reason to bulletproof windows, secure doors, etc. Makes me want to buy weapons without registration to protect myself from this liberal nonsense.

Honestly, with all the violence that was happening I could see another perspective that law enforcement wanted to take weapons to keep violence from happening except that there were murders every night. I was living in New Orleans when Katina hit and had been there only a year. I didn't know the city very well but I always noticed I got tickets at night when police were off duty when I was parked in a legitimate parking place with no reason to get a ticket.
