@Galgamax2 what he did was folk music and spinning a tale as he spoke/sang. also the style was similar to something called "irish old style"....the neat thing was he wrote ballads that were new but sounded traditional and old. a neat time.......peacock feathers and incense for all here.

@johnrakemusic thanks for letting me know, he was a nice guy and one of the most fantastic guitarists to ever play a note. in a word, magical....many play that sort of music but he is never duplicated. thanks so much for letting me know. be well. and play those old songs.

@thepixieful I don't mean to make you feel bad, I know you posted this a year ago. But I started crying a little bit when I read this comment.

@MITCHWILD PROBABLY Britains finest? As far as an acoustic guitarist, he is definetly the best the UK period has ever produced if you ask me.
-
@Galgamax2 I agree, but his guitar playing more than makes up for it.

back in 04 I remember him from 74. so glad he is still going.

Hey - I'm in this video. I'm the guy, centre screen, checking his camera at 1:18. That's my dad bopping away in front of me. True Bert fans at Cambridge!

Galgamax2 said " he cannot sing to save his life."
His range is actually goes higher than usual in this performance. His vocal talents are secondary to his guitar virtuosity, yet he does sound great when he's doing backup vocal harmonies, and in songs like Blackwaterside, has a dark sonorous baritone that complements his guitar work.
