Fort Meigs 6/18/2011 "Muster on the Maumee" Perrysburg, Ohio

Fort Meigs is a War of 1812 battlefield located in Perrysburg, Ohio.

Just outside the walls of this huge wooden walled fort is its fantastic visitor center which was completed in 2003. Here you will find a store, theater, classrooms, a museum, and more. The museum exhibits include frontier Ohio and early Native Americans, the history of the War of 1812 and the fort's role in the war, artifacts found at Fort Meigs, ect.

Each of the many structures built within the fort's wall is open for touring and contain additional educational exhibits.

6/18/2011: Muster on the Maumee which is a timeline event held at the fort on Father's Day weekend and includes everything from ancient Roman Soldiers to the modern era soldier. See the evolution of the common soldier from the Roman Legionnaire through the 20th Century. Soldiers, artisans, and civilians give demonstrations throughout the weekend. Period military camps are open for visiting. Weapon demonstrations take place each day. See medieval knights on horseback and many other exciting demonstrations throughout this two day event.
