Hopefully, final version of the game programming project: a simple scene with "Tiny" walking around. This is done completely in DirectX - nothing else is used. The model comes with the DirectX SDK!

  • I'm thinking of going to Abertay to do games programming. Is it worth it? What are the job opportunities like?

  • @JRHartly1984 definitely worth it. they have connections to sony, sega and many other game companies. they regularly visit and look for interns.

  • whts the song?

  • haluk bilginer - yürürüm

from the soundtrack of "hacivat karagöz neden öldürüldü" which is known as "who killed the shadows" abroad...

  • oh come on. he looks ugly and why you cant just get out of there

  • Wanna make a game with me?

  • aferin lan!

  • @s3analvar3z :/ I really don't know what to tell you there. There's a program for blender, look up "blender makehuman". It will make humans, but I don't know if it makes clothing for them or not.

  • @Salien1999 Thanks I appreciate it much. I will definitely be checking into it. I really can't draw so I'm hoping for something that can dress characters up and body changes like wwe smackdown vs raw. Which will probably eventually come along in the gaming industry, if it hasn't already. Doing something like that with premade designes Could save a lot of time on games. But for those who then want to make there own graphics that option is still there.

  • @s3analvar3z For graphics, I'd read first Sams 24 Hours C++ Book. Then after that, look up DarkGDK 2D tutorial, after you have learned 2D, then do 3D.

  • @Salien1999 what books do you recommend? I really don't know much about. I pick up computers quick. I've got my own search engine and stuff. So I'm not a newbie to computers. Just to game programming. Could you point me in the right direction so I can start learning how to do this? I'd appreciate very much!
