What a pity that this is the only video of these incredible guitarist brothers. WHat skill and what incredible feeling and musicality. Has their ever been any better duets of any instrument? I doubt it. What a pity they performed together for so short a time.

A good friend of mine...his sister in law dates one of the brothers....they do not play anymore. Both are brilliant men.

Presti - Lagoya duo was superior one in their particular way, due Ida Presti. But what makes the Abreu duo unique is the homogenous sound and total command of music, producing what is written in the music. No other guitar duo has reached this level.

They were very good. Not the equal of Presti and Lagoya, however.

But I digress. The real reason for my post is to call attention to the plethora of gawking, childish, naive, and downright ignorant comments found here. The piles of steaming brown bovine minutia in this thread are overwhelming. I must take my offended olfactory sense elsewhere for a breath of fresh air.

Alegria de poder apreciar esta beleza de vídeo (raro), no qual tocam estes que estão entre os mais prestigiados violonistas do século XX; tristeza devido a pouca quantidade de exibições e, principalmente, por conta da escassez de comentários em Língua Portuguesa! É com orgulho e vergonha que escrevo... Orgulho pois estes gênios são brasileiros e são internacionalmente valorizados; vergonha pois aqui são quase desconhecidos!

There has indeed not been any of the same superior standard since Abreu -brothers. The Assad -brothers aren't bad - not at all .- but they are missing the "something" in their approach and sound. Presti & Lagoya -duo was fabulous (due Ida) and had also the "sound" but not that classical one of the Abreus. The rest is noise.
