Question-how can the wwe be considered a sport? The entire argument against wrestling is that it can be interpreted as passing itself off as a sport, which to be honest it is not because there is no legitimate competition in these events - AKA it`s scripted. Claiming that wres. is a sport invalidates the argument that pro wres is more akin to action theatre than a sporting event. In other words trying to call it a sport can be countered by calling it a fake sport.

@GreenHaze193 Pro wrestlers are ATHLETES. They can do back-flips, somersaults and MANY other athletic maneuvers and flips. It doesn't matter if wrestling is scripted or not, pro wrestlers certainly fit the definition of what an athlete is. A lot of the things that wrestlers do in the ring require skills similar to that of a gymnast, and no one is gonna argue that a gymnast is not an athlete.

I never called wrestling a 100 percent real sport because it's scripted, but it is a PARTIAL sport.

@GreenHaze193 (continued) Pro wrestling is an "athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess". Many wrestlers are very athletic and they do a lot of athletic moves in the ring like flips. So pro wrestling does fit a partial definition of what a sport is. However, I've never called wrestling a sport because it's not really a competition, because it's predetermined and scripted.

But, as I said in my previous comment, most wrestlers are definitely ATHLETES.

@joeandray Do I have to explain EVERYTHING to you? I meant that some games in sports can be FIXED.  Basketball games in the NBA have been fixed and there's a POSSIBLILITY that games in other sports can be fixed as well.

@IphoneMonsta You don't think do you? At least from the WWE, the WWE has said the opposite. They have said that they are scripted and nwo the WWE doesn't even call there shows wrestling shows, they call them entertainment shows.

I like more pro-wrestling and Muay Thai cause is more interesting then UFC. Ofcourse i respect fighters, BUT why UFC suck? Cause there no DEDICATION. Cain Valasquez win his Heawyweight belt in LAST YEAR OCTOBER. So What the hell he is doing all this year? Ok its brutal, but real muay thai fighters having fight every week. Look at Buakaw Por Pramuk REAL FIGHTER with DEDICATION. UFC? only advertisement about cage and no rules nothing else. And wrestling? Events every WEEK, thats DEDICATION too!!!

i been a wrestling fan ever since i was little but what wrestlers do in the ring aint all fake the slams the bumps what they do is work as a team to put on a show for the to entertain the crowd after all its called SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT its athletic and acting at the same time thats why (pro) wrestling is more unique from other sports...
