I think it mainly has to do with von Trier's use of Lascia ch'io pianga (granted, it's the version by Tuva Semmingsen) in the prologue and epilogue of Antichrist.

For me, neither would have worked without it (after all, the english translation is let me weep my cruel fate, which is what Antichrist is all about).

That does this heavenly music have to do with the antichrist?
