  • The part about Harvard being influence to replace humanism with dualism and positivism was intriguing. I'd love to learn more about that piece of history. What's your source?

  • Try Alston Chase, author of 'Harvard and the Unabomber.' Great source.

  • spot on they iron out the trouble makers etc, keep the yes men. if you repeat exactly whats on the page you get an A, if you put your own spin on it you get a D. brainwashing at its best.

  • this is so true. I went back and looked at my old high school history textbook and now I can see how much of it has a western bias or is totally bunk.

  • @Psycholosophere be careful not to get too comfortable because those4 things are the prelude to eugenics which is about to make its big comeback 0_o

  • I really enjoy these videos you folks put together (the series on TV as well) thank you kindly for sharing gthem let alone going to the trouble of making them in the first. One small piece of constructive criticism I should point out is that in one of these two about college your web address at the bottom of the screen overlaps one of the titles making it difficult to read. Other than that pat yourselves on the back for a job well done =]

  • Haha I suspected my university was doing something like that.... but since the thing my lecturers seem to be pushing for are environmentalism and protecting biodiversity, which is why i came to uni in the first place..... well in this case I'm fine with it =)

  • I don't go to a big university either, rather a small private liberal arts school. So for those who cannot relate to this video, that might be why. However, I have visited other larger universities and I would say these videos pretty much sums up how they work.

  • There is nothing wrong with indoctrination - we are all indoctrinated. But sometimes its good and sometimes its half good

  • no wonder i was shit student

  • wow

  • great understanding and work. Keep on trying to broaden student view.

  • open to interpretation and thus, not some kind of "control mechanism"

Any student can read anything, and will have had different experiences, making them individuals.

  • My jaw dropped when the "dualism" "positivism" Harvard curriculum point was made 2:00

Has anyone read "Time in the Ditch: American Philosophy and the McCarthy Era"?
