I don't know, if we are still listening to it 25 years later he must have had some insight. Just because he didn't give a f#*& about his music getting on the radio and making tons of money...does that mean he is insane? I would tend to lean to the opposite, their creativity and message was the epitome of sanity.
@PotatoManTada - i'm not at all uncomfortable w/ 'BJTC' and i never will be. this IS the birthday party - caterwauling, borderline psychotic, but (in the midst of all the neurosis and smack) always compelling... truth is, 'sanity' is for easy listening radio.

I am a huge fan of Nick Cave, and all of his past incarnations, but we fans have a confession to make. We all know that his early work was pretty fucked up. I love this song, I love all of his songs, but there is something to be wanted... Call it sanity.
