My new favorite song. Amazing.

@Gaylel1 Thanks for the testimony. I am sorry to hear that Andres Crouch and other Christian musicians including your cousin were ostracised by typical traditionalists in your church. I know what you are talking about because the majority of people in my denomination are just like that even today. Yes I am against the integration of hip-hop and hard rock with Christian music. But these songs by Andre Crouch have touched me better than some old 19th century hymns.

@soulbrother34 Awesome! Can't wait to see and hear. Thanks for keeping me up to date.

@Gaylel1 Whatever happened to Bili and Perry? Very talented singers indeed and Bili was a virtuoso on the bass. I so loved his solo on the original recording of "My Tribute". Also, Perry's solo on "Amazing Grace" on the 'Live at Carnegie Hall' album is a masterpiece. Andrae Crouch &The Disciples - my all time favorite gospel group.

@soulbrother34 .In the early 70's I saw Andrae in concert in Cincinnati. He was singing by himself in a big church there. I got all of his albums and wore them out. I'm 60 years old now, and these songs are as beautiful and meaningful as they were then! The true gospel of Christ never gets old, and thank God for artists like Andrae, who can put the gospel to song, and not compromise the message! I'm listening to all of these songs tonight and havin' church!! GLORY, GLORY, GLORY!!!!

Bili Thedford is my cousin on my mother's side. But this is amazing that you are sharing this after 40 years. Andrae and other christian musicians were ostracized by the church because of the beat and some traditionalists thought that this music was not of God. A lot of years later, this music sounds fresh now as it was in 1969. I'm glad the kids are hearing this for the first time.

@Gaylel1 You are very welcome and you are correct about Andrae and the other musicians at that time. This is something that a lot of the young people in this generation no nothing about and I hope that one day this history gets told, so they can understand what these people went through in laying down such a rich foundation for Contemporary Gospel Singers, back in the day!!!!

@Gaylel1 Agreed! Everybody, not just the kids need to hear this music. So powerfully annointed! I remember my folks having this album but it was green with Andrae and the Disciple standing on what looks like a scaffold. I'll have to ask my brother because he has the record now. This song, Along Came Jesus and Take a Little Time are my favorites. Thanks for posting SB34!

@maraide45 ...and I found that out when I talked to a few artist, and they happened to see what was covered on them and told me some of what was written was wrong. So I believe Andrae, but this song had to record in '69 or sometime in '70 when Tramaine was single and not yet back with Edwin's group. The group's schedule was very heavy back then, so there was no way she could have gotten away from them to sing this with Bili, there was no time for her to do that in '71...
