  • I dont think I've ever seen a African American metal band or rock band. Hmm idk why, white ppl dont care for us. They just want to hear us rap some ignorant ghetto shit that shows how smart we are. Hmmm

  • I'm a black punk rock fan and I don't give a shit that damn every band I listen to only have white people in them and I know plenty of white people that love rap music and they don't give a shit that most of the rappers are black. Music fans are colorblind and its time for the record labels to realize that

  • What? ok im white and my favorite rock band called Sevendust has an African American lead singer. And what do you its like "white rapper trying to make it in the hip-hop industry"? and i know you know this is true look at Eminem he's probably one of the kings of rap ONE OF because there are alot of quality rappers (personally i like T.I. Young Jeezy etc..) so dont fucking say they are trying to "Make it" because Eminem is the most well-known rapper out there and probably one of the best

  • Finally...

Thanks to all the bands that brought this to life(247-Spyz,Follow For Now,Sound Barrier,Xavion,Living Colour,The Hard Corps,Fishbone,Weapon of Choice)

    ...and it won't die...

  • Part of it too is the 'independence of the music industry' today.

Jimi Hendrix is the father of metal, which is Ironic too. Most people do not credit him either outside of musicians. I never understood why. I have always assumed racism conscious and unconscious.

  • I would love to see this!

  • It is so fucking sad. So many bands like King's X, Suicidal Tendencies and Living Color, and that doesn't include all the black acts in the past that couldn't even get contracts.

I think musical culture is guilty though, not just black and white, to some extent. Although to what, I can't say....

  • We have never understood why King's X is not huge. This sort of sums it up, sadly.

    Shameful truth.

  • Mike and Terrance from Suffocation are black and they are one of the most popular death metal bands around.

  • I guess it's no worse than white rappers trying to make it in the hip hop industry though.
