Yes. Because Australians are the ones out there putting their ass on the line day in and day out. How many Aussie's compared to Americans died in Germany, Italy, Japan, Aghanistain, etc. again? If it wasn't for us, Australia would be wearing swastikas right now. But hey, big man. If you think our blood and treasure that we put on the line while many EU states and Australia barely can bring themselves to invest in a decent military budget, maybe you "tough" Aussie's should show us how it is done?
Reading the comments, not many seem to get that Iran had declared war against the US (I'm Australian), Bin Laden declared war against the US and he's reaching for his knife to stab you in the eye while you debate the morality of defending yourselves. What a pathetic bunch of pussy-whipped cream-puffs.
The truth is the same threat is here in my country and it will surface soon enough.
@redpyramid88 "Bruce Thornton at least to my eyes seems to be interested only on fighting people of different religions and not much more."
I would agree with you if he hadn't delineated a plethora of logical arguments which calls for the stance he assumed, especially with this particular enemy. I would submit, the man has the heart of a warrior. Lord knows there are too few like him.
Are you saying all Muslims are terrorists? Shame on you! Islam is not just a religion, it is a political system. Wake-up! Sharia is not pleasant for a a non-Muslim. Mr. Thorton has made a very valid point. Men are no longer men. What we have now is a bunch of chickified, porno robots, gutless wonders who care for no one but themselves. They are quick to condemn those who sacrifice all to ensure individual rights. The West needs to wake up. Believe what the enemy is saying.
@AlOlmstead As I understand it, that's not what he's saying. Not at all.
If you have to get rid of those, whose sole ambition is to destroy you, you should do it in a timely manner - at some point in time, when it's still "easy" and won't cause unnecessary collateral damage. The longer one waits, the worse it gets. (see WW2)
That's the whole point - do it early, so you can prevent the unnecessary death of innocent people on both sides, which seems inevitable in a fight of (near) equal forces.
I'll have to agree with AIOmstead, even though I do love many conservative speakers that have been interviewed in this show and I consider myself a libertarian. There is utility in the use of force but the same is true of diplomacy and both methods should be used by a state, differing from case to case. Bruce Thornton at least to my eyes seems to be interested only on fighting people of different religions and not much more. Big disappointment after the amazing interview with William Voegeli.
This man is a moron and if you believe this morons version of history then you must believe the eveing news then you are a moron and deserve what this country has become from 1870 till now but he is right the leaders of this country are morally corrupt
This guy didn't mention about the unforeseen outcome: What will happen to US? Britain was able to ward off Hitler by US money and Russian blood. Islam is not Germany. True Germany was much more technically strong but it was geographically confined. Not, with nearly 2 billion Muslim. How many does Mr. Thornton plan to kill? Even if Mr. Thornton's wish of eliminating 2 billion people from the world is possible, it will come with a price of end of American century and start of Chinese World Order
@Bangell99 - What is so wacky with the ending? Maybe you should the video a few more times or read his book to fully understand.

Bit of a wacky ending. And I can't say I learned a great deal about appeasement over the course of these videos.
