Using the Rolling Stones "Sympathy for the Devil" as an example, we look at the basic E, A, B (a.k.a. the 1, 4, 5 position) chord pattern, the basis for countless rock and blues songs. We also play all the chords in the middle of the neck.

  • If you mean the E I play at the end of the neck, it's just a regular E but played with your last three fingers (the ones opposite your thumb) , so your index finger will be free when you go to play the bar chords up the neck. I hope that helps, if not ask again. - bob
