@CoopaTheTroopa What?! I've debated in both, and I like NCFCA so much better. It actually teaches speaking skills, instead of speed reading.

@getinrdone76 No, but generally it takes away from the overall appearance, intelligence, and credibility of the speech :) but hey, we've all murdered pronunciations at one point in time or another during rounds or speeches!

If I could give one successful extemp speech at a regional tournament, I'd probably be satisfied for life haha.

My state requires a notecard also....I thought that this was a good speech. He knows what he is talking about and sources often and correctly.
Could try being a bit more confident though...even if your not with your topic just BS it ;)

@parisianbutterfy333 I think my emphasis is a little off, but it's certainly not a butchering. There are some great pronunciation guides online that you might find helpful. :)

@dookdillard Yeah, the notecard isn't optimal. Different league, different rules though. They want the card for accountability in sources. *shrug*
