@rockinbass01 In those days there was no affirmative action for 4 strokes. The classes were by displacement.

Mikkola was one of the best technical riders of all time. Truly a great talent to watch. Love these old school races.

Brilliant. I was at the first Trans AMA at Carnegie Cycle Park outside of Livermore, Ca. Magical times...although I continue to ride offroad (with my kids) and occasionally race, I consider that the golden age of offroad motorcycling and racing. Thanks for posting

These guys are moving. riders were just as good, Just they had under 6 inches of travel and maybe an Amel or Bing carberator . I think these guys would give most amatures a good race today on their 2009

A great glimpse into the true golden age of motocross. Good racing without all of the man made jumps, etc. Thank you for posting this film.
