This year's parade is a special commemoration marking the 90th Anniversary of Veteran's Day (1919-2009).
Hosted by the United War Veterans Council on behalf of the City of New York, the parade is the largest of its kind in the nation, providing an opportunity for New Yorkers and visitors from across our country (and around the world!) to honor those who have preserved our freedoms.
This year's parade theme, "The Blessings of Liberty," is drawn from the preamble to our Constitution. Our goal is to encourage the public to not only support our veterans and military, but to show their appreciation for the good things in their own lives that they owe to those in unitorm.
The opening ceremony will start at 10:00 a.m. at Madison Square Park. The parade will begin an hour later. Full details and information about joining the parade or volunteering can be found at the parade's webpage.
