Thank you for this. I am away from home (Jordan in the middle east) , but I'm from Newcastle. I used to play in colliery bands when I was younger . My Gran (now deceased) used to love the Salvation Army bands especially. She might even have been listening on the days you recorded (the videos look oldish), she'd definitely have loved this

@H15GWP :: I would like to add the "Joystrings" to the list. I feel it is a loss for the Army that this idea was not continued.

What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than listening to Army bands!. Credit to both Stockton & Sunderland Monkwearmouth bands for entertaining the shoppers & more importantly spreading the gospel.

It is a real shame our Army is getting away from what made us so unique. Church on Sunday morning is just so different than growing up and as we no longer have Sunday evening services it is like every other main stream church out there. Oh for the good old days.
Will parts 2 and three be released shortly? Thanks. Preston.

@MrPreston49 Regrettably the originator of this Channel and this video is prevented by health problems from continuing this Channel. - Very soon the Channel may have to be disbanded altogether, which will be sad.

@godsine It's in the SA Band Tune Book. - It's a Song from one of the Gowans/Larson Musicals. The Tune is Called 'He Came to give us Life' No: 662. - Hope that this helps.

Who says Salvation Army Bands no longer attract ? Take a good look at all the interest around and about. Some would have the Army dispense with its most attractive 'hallmarks'. Brass Bands & Uniforms.
