In this presentation from the Legacy of Slavery series, UC Berkeley Professor and winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Leon Litwack, deals with "Trouble in Mind: African Americans From Emancipation to the 1990's." Litwack talks about the racist treatment of African Americans using examples from the Roaring 20's with lynching occurring weekly to World War II where German soldiers caught by allied troops were treated better than American black soldiers to the Civil Rights' movement of Post World II. • @ns0710: I would not mind the man to be my proffessor in history too. Such men are rear to come by and teach as they know, see and observe. They are guided by reason and conscience and dispassionate attachment to truth - absolute truth that is.

  • This is the best I have seen and heard so far, this is a real brother who hasn't a joke in him. This man is "serious" and knows what he is talking about "hands down". Run for anything..."You Got My Vote"

  • "How can white america express outrage for the plight of Jews, while remaining indifferent to the lynching and brutalization of black americans? How can a Jim Crow army fight for a free world? How can black americans fight abroad for freedoms denied to them at home?"

I will never look at the world the same again.

  • Why cant i donwload this with firefox?

  • Many times, topics like this are so controversial people shy away or or incognito. It's great to see someone in leadership with education and who understands the African American Culture from many spectrums w.o taking sides. Just facts. Very well spoken. It seems very well taken. God bless all who listen. "Love Thy Neighbor" - Equality is all that is asked. Thanks for posting.

  • Will God judge all mankind according to what they have done? If the answer is yes then I know that those who enslaved and multtreated blacks are in hell waiting for their final judgement. For nothing is so sinful than to multreat, torture and lynch humans made in the image of God.

  • Indeed. He is my favorite college Professor of them all.

  • This man is God sent!!!!
