where there is my rationale,
there is the memory and moving dream
of a windy mind

they say my sound and vision flow
within the bone-cased brain
and the clouds in the blue are seen
and known, only on my inner screen
where thought flies parallel with clouds

let me be as black as the talent of a wing
where no reason knows to beat the rhythms
but desire to soar and screech and sing

reason fails digestion, the archer and the bee
reason fails Fucking

reason allows Two, Three and Four to sleep
in the House of One

reason makes Five, Six and Seven
where only One IS

reason gives a name to Now
and calls it "Today"
Today gave birth to Twin Fantasies
Yesterday and Tomorrow

reason serves the embezzler, the broker,
the crook and investor
reason multiplies, divides
and counts profits

reason says that this is that,
this is that, this is that and this is that
until One realises that
This is Still
This

and let the feathered black talent of my wings
cut through clouds
let my winging bones whip
and beat their reasons into your windy world

  • Was the association with AIR intentional? :)

    In any case, very fitting.

  • Yep. :)

An interesting thing happened a couple of days after posting this. I flew to Portland, OR and every seat on the plane had a little Tv screen with blue sky and clouds on it if you didn't buy the service. The reflection of my eyes was on the screen as well so I kept thinking of this poem.

  • trippy!

i knew there was acid in that turkey!

  • did you just call me a turkey?

    ;P

  • lol do you have acid in you?

stick a fork in me, i'm done :)

  • lol

    it's been a long time

  • What an interesting presentation!

  • I love this poem, glad it's up again for awhile :)

  • the eagle who thought he was a turkey

  • ten stars. F'n amazing.

  • There is nothing blind about "coincidence," at least if it's audience has "eyes to see."

This video struck me when I first viewed it a little while ago. The "Lord of the Air" can be a prickly fellow. Everything in proportion.

  • i'm gonna have to feature this one for a while. it unsettles and intrigues me at the same time.

  • Your head is in the clouds my friend

  • Oh my god...I believe!!! That was actually kinda cool in a "I took one too many" sorta way.
