  • Totally amazing! Better then original! Very innovative and cool variations. This made a huge difference comparing to the original. Bravo! Just wonder how did you set up that drum beat sequence, and that sound effect that comes on 4th beat of each measure. Uber cool!!!! ;)

  • @psbmastering : Thanks for the comments! :)

Someone gave me all the individual samples of the Korg Minipop, used by JMJ in 1976. I made a minipop drumkit in the PA2X (samples are in PA2X RAM). The "sound effect" is one of the minipop's samples. Something like an electronic quijada.

    Best

  • Exellent!!!

  • Brilliant.....

  • excellent cover!! your cover made oxygene 4 like 80s song :)

  • @galettouille I`m not disputing what you performed was not creative, what I`m disturbed at is that somebody can come on a public comment feed and say "Better than original" to agree yourself that it`s better than the original would be sheer blasphemy.

  • Really Fantastic.A absolutely new Version, cool.

Good Work. Keep it up ;-)

I disagree with your photoshop comparison : JMJ uses synthesizers to play Oxygene, and I played synthesizer to do this cover. I played all the parts, and made the sounds using soustractive synthesis. One difference : he used a preset drum pattern of the minipop, and I have made the pattern myself, because I have no minipop...

The purpose was to show that this keyboard allows to play various musics freely, changing chords live as you want, what is not possible with sequencer.

  • @digitalmonkeynuts

    interesting comments.

What do you think about a new version made by JMJ himself? Can't it be better than original? Or could it be better because it's made by JMJ? What do you think about masterpieces "discovered" very lately, whose price increses dramatically, just because we know their autor suddenly? My advice is that a work of art must has a value independently of the author. So if this cover is better or not, it's not because JMJ has not played it.

  • @psbmastering that`s like redoing the mona lisa painting in photoshop and biocubically enhancing it, i mean the original is still BETTER!

  • @digitalmonkeynuts Because you have pushed it further with your expended harmony. This made the piece much broader in scope ten the original.
