Ian Werner plays his pipes and records a video of it for youtube... he vowed never to do so until the audio recording capabilities of his camera were up to snuff (11,250 k 8 bit mono works fine for practice chanter, but not pipes) however, amid recent speculation and rumors arising that Ian could, in fact, NOT play bagpipes, he posts this video proof that he, in fact, CAN.. and quite well (if one overlooks the tiny slip in the very last 10 seconds) :)

  • Hi Ian,

Have you been up to Seattle, for the Masters of Scottish Arts workshop/concert?

I really appreciate your videos for the inspiration at such an affordable price...free is cool, but if you have a paypal account I would love to send you some frogskins.Your videos are a regular part of my daily practice at home.I belong to a slutty little street band called the Seattle Firefighters Pipes and Drums. If you come up north, I'll buy you a cheeseburger and your body weight in Guinness. Gracias

  • LOL it's a deal,,, i might be up your way this summer

  • for How long have you been playing???

i can do masons apron to but not so good as you. but ive been playing for only 9 months.

  • i've been playing for 16 or so years... i am almost 27 years old

  • What kind of pipes do you have?

  • David Naill DN4's circa 1996 (drones); Naill blackwood chanter circa 2004, (although the chanter used in this video is actually my Gibson band chanter with a reed made by very well-respected (Canadian) piper who secretly is working his magic behind the scenes as an awesome reed maker but wishes to still remain anonymous. cane drone reeds from McNulty... sheepskin bag seasaoned w/Robinsons seasoning in the plastic container... Gibson brand removable water-trap/stock (GREAT investment that is)
