Thousands of supporters of former dictator Muammar Gaddafi are still being held in Libyan prisons, with many of them tortured - according to a UN report. Many jails are secret and under the control of armed rebels who refuse to comply with the country's new government.

Lawrence Freeman from the Executive Intelligence Review Magazine talks to RT. He says that there's no sign Libya is getting closer to democracy.

Really? Which Muslim country has more than 700 army bases spread all over the world?

Many Muslims in countries such as Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq would describe American soldiers as "barbarians", and so would I.

COuld you show me where it says that 33 percent? Anyways, it doesn't necessarily mean giving them those position, just showering them and Sirte with money. Compare Sirte with the rest of Libya. And nah, Libya right now is in no ones control..

"people of his tribe" only 33% of the politicians included that tribe out of the 100%, and after 1993 when there was coup de'tat against him he made it strict that the no tribe part should be pointed.

    That's how the truth is.

Stop reading time magazine or any bullshit magazine who wants you to believe that we can go buy properties on moon, meet aliens in earth, and lots of bullshit.

Yeah Libya is almost in his control, those al-qaeda terrorists(who u call rebel) have not even cent worth control.

He only made Libya great for a selected few, specifically the people of his tribe. But that's normal. What's not normal is when a leader doesn't care about the rest of the people.

How's Libya still in his control? Right now the rebels are fighting for control amongst each other
