  • I was thinking of the nathu khan sarangi player who performed the Purbi, Madhuvanti, Shuddh Sarang, Patdeep, Multani, and Madhkauns ragas; is that the same person? If so, thanks for the added information

  • Indeed, many tabla players have shown their brillance in the last 300 years. Ustad Nathu Khan (1875-1940) of the Delhi Gharana, son of Ustad Boli Baksh, had a total mastery over the Delhi kaidas, especially those "Dhite Tite" compositions. Contemporean stars in this gharana are Pandit Vajpayee, Ustaad Latif Ahmed Khan and Ustad Shabbir Nisar, among many others of course.
