@mentmatvey I have recently come across some interesting ideas that I think relate to the riddle of " love your enemy". Psychcentral had an article by Karyn Hall about opposite emotion where a detailed analysis of their behviour enables sympathy to reduce the rage you might feel. On psychology today there is the idea to act the person you want to be & it will happen. Homer Macdonald ;"Stop your divorce" has an idea about if you just agree with your partner they will be more considerate to you

@mentmatvey Have you read Rob Bell's, "Love Wins". He looks at the idea that Gehenna / hell in the Bible was intended to be defined as an experience of life on earth. For example in Matt 5v22 Jesus would have said, " If you habitually call people nasty names like "fool" then your experience of life will be impoverished, use of ad hominem instead of adjectives will degrade your thought life & could potentially lead to a rubbish dump life. A more proportionate interpretation ? Think love languages

@mentmatvey I think it would be the will of a loving, good, responsible, competent Heavenly Father to take everyone to heaven by his grace and not by mans works or beliefs. If all things were possible for God then he would do all that was necessary to ensure that no one suffered eternally. Nothing would be able to separate us from the love of a good God, It would be his duty to fulfill plan A as if nothing had gone wrong. I will see you in heaven if there is one, but extinction is more likely

@zytigon, "What are you asking God to do? To wipe out their past sins and, at all costs, to give them a fresh start, smoothing every difficulty and offering every miraculous help? But He has done so, on Calvary. To forgive them? They [refuse to be] forgiven. To leave them alone? Alas, I am afraid that is what He does. -C. S. Lewis "The Problem of Pain" Ch. VIII, p. 128

@tewewen I think a loving heavenly father would take everyone to heaven; all prodigals. I think a loving Christ would claim all of humanity as his prize. Orthodox doctrine of hell where 90 % of the human race goes to eternal concentration camp is obscene & simply not reality & cannot be part of a God worthy of worship. The doctrine of hell is like slavery: It needs to be discarded. A good God wouldn't damn people for thinking the Bible is fiction?try Robert Price & Tentmaker777

This is KG's SYMPHONY!!! WHO has ever put the story of The Prodigal Son to song like he has??? I grew up in the Church being taught the very opposite of what this song expresses...that the son was simply an ignorant, rebellious son.
The return of a rebellious child...
I don't know just who put this video together...BUT it is absolutely amazing
(s)he did such a great job with bringing the subject into modern times!
GOD BLESS
