YEah, the wider open the aperture/iris the shallower the depth of field. So 1.4 means the DoF is going to be super shallow, and 16 means you'll have like no DOF whatsoever, but you'll need to compensate by having a TON TON TON of light, because the iris is so small

Its a great lens, very sharp. You can end up with a persons nose in focus, but ear or other part out of focus if you are not careful.
Still a nice lens, and very bright as well. I like it very much and woudl not change it for the new AFS lens

Yeah funny, I only set the camera on the coffee table without much thought in front of the cat.
The fact that there is a tiny fly in the action and the cat is such a wonderful actor, makes it all the better.

:) Was a funny test because cat does not move for first seconds and it looks like a photo.
As an actor I would say his ability to disregard the camera and crew on concentrate on his acting is amazing and will certainly be part of his reason for Oscar contention.
