SHUGGIE!! he is the definition of under-rated.  It's VERY rare to hear of his name, let alone see him. He's been pretty much reclusive since like 1974. Anyone interested in his music NEEDS to pick up the reissue of "Inspiration Information," which is a compilation of songs from the 1974 album of the same name & selected songs from the epic "Freedom Flight" record.

I grew up on his music. This stuff is amazing

@cartolas You my friend have said it right. The ability of this gentleman is on other levels. People these days just want the hook that sells. If they realized that if they supported someone with the talent to create such great sounds we would have so much better music and our souls would be the better for it.

@omga14 What I also think is special about him is the abilty to make such an awesome record as "Inspiration Information" on his own, you know? Like Stevie Wonder did his stuff. I mean - piano playing, funky drum playing, composing, arranging - that's way more than being a great guitar player. 'm I right?

and playing rather conservatively to Mos's level of creativity, he woulda taken it to other universes.

@jpgr6270 Lol, I find some people talking guitar greats and not even have hard of Shuggie. I simply ask how they can talk like they know and not even know Shuggie. Sure you can know all the commonly known guitarists but you don't begin to delve till you start looking for the ones that inspired the ones that mainstream consider as great. Hell, the only reason people know about Robert Johnson is cause of the movie Crossroads. People still don't understand how he played the way he did.
