I doubt that this will stay up very long. It seems a little too harsh right now. Ande wrote on FB and requested that I post this old song for her. The one about embroidering jeans. This is "Idyllic Tranquility" and I bet I have not played it for something close to ten years and I know I've never tried it on this noisy metal guitar. Almost toasted my throat trying to sing over it. Welcome to 4:00 AM on a work-night with a multiplicity of deadlines looming this week, I just set the camera on a stack of CDs and did it. Nothing fancy at all. Except the context. Which is to say, the intro. The idea that writing songs is not going to save us, even if they are great songs like "we shall overcome" or "Se'a Hamba" or some form of "Namaste" and that not even speaking the truth is not going to save us, no matter how clearly it gets articulated. Cuz too many people are simply too far past listening. When I remember the other verse I'll do it again. Here is the link to Pinky the Cat's meditation on class treason that triggered this 4:00 AM frame of mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHGaH-7wq6M&sns

  • Thanks Joe--I'll send you more about the discussion that "needed" this later, once I write a paper or two.
