a water/glycerin drop is forced to burst into a spray by the vibrational support. video shows a 0.15-second (real time) sequence from the start of vertical sinusoidal vibration at 1 kHz. small-amplitude, high-frequency vibration imposes acceleration of hundreds G's on the drop, which triggers its "instantaneous" burst. the field of view is approximately 12 x 6 mm.
