There is a big difference between demonstation and actual practise of some martial art - You should know that ...

I would like you to teach me those aikido principles that I dont know / do ... For start , you can point me 1 of them ;)

I practice Aikido ... that's not traditional aikido, aikido that is American .... true budo is an art without competition ... Do not confuse the aikido with this ... greetings from Argentina ...

'Real Aikido' was not taught by Ueshiba. This is an evolved form of Aikido. I have no problem with them as I'm not a purist. I studied more traditional Aikido for a long time but when I came across Shodokan Aikido I found that this was more for me. I love the competative aspect of it and the 'real time' oppotunities to practice your technique. I think that makes it far more realistic and closer to the way the arts were taught before the West got their hands on them.

Real Aikido is just one and is taught by Ueshiba Osensei. If it is absurd and unreal, does not take away the right to be called the original and true. If we modify and adapt the Ueshiba Aikido for real situations (I think a very obvious choice), the original Aikido will no longer be, we have to accept it. I adapted my aikido to make real functional in hostile situations, but I noticed that I stop being the original Aikido and "real" once learned.
