Actually Moore's Law is now manifestly redundant. I saw a great lecture by Maurice Perks (IBM Fellow) pretty much saying that the golden age of IT is over. Not on You Tube alas but I have the PowerPoint slide deck.
Interesting video but you have some false assumptions. Moore's Law hasn't been proven true. Governments don't innovate. We could enter a new dark ages again. Or we could have breakthroughs and officially move into the information age. However there are some powerful industrial age influences that don't want to change.
This is the most sober, informed and perceptive account of our nation's general health (or lack thereof) I've seen. Bravo.
