Anyway, the rhythms are mind-numbingly simple and terrible. These people do not know anything about rhythm and it shows. Learn how to play those crappy drums at least a little bit before you try to bang on it like a retard to impress the other talentless hippies..

@jjyurkovich Exactly. Drum circles are for people who are rhytmically-retarded, trying to feel "primal" or "tribal" or something. They use their mass-produced, shitty drums from Guitar Center more as toys and fashion statements than actual instruments.
Anyone who is a bit more serious about percussion and has a decent amount of rhythm quickly realizes how rhythmically-retarded these drum circles really are and how the people who participate in them really, really suck at drumming.

i love drum circles, they are so lovely and great to do with others. when we all get the rhythm, i can't stop smiling.

@svnthdysthsbbth : Perhaps not, but it is the spirit of the earth. It is the earth's beat, a primal one, and there is nothing wrong with that. There are times that I find nothing more pure and relaxing than the beats of a drum circle.
