That's just brilliant. Keep these videos coming!

erm if you have no vacuum pump you could just suck on the end of a tube with your mouth, which would allow pretty accurate placement!

Great videos. I like the speed at which you speak and you dont regurgitate - like some other EEV blogger we won't mention. lol

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned it before but you talk blazingly fast..usually I can't make out what you're saying..

Great video, I've never done anything SMD releated before but its starting to look a hell of a lot easier.
Great video Mike. About the sanyo oven that you run at 60% on the variac, did you bypass the temperature control on the that oven? do you mean turn "off" just before the elements glow red because you don't want the infra red to damage the board?

@SP00NY I just set the oven's temp control to max. You dont; want too much IR as this can scorch the PCB and components before the more reflective metal parts have reached soldering temperature

Interesting tips there. I'm definitely going to make a foot operated vacuum tool myself. Got an old and small vacuum pump lying around here somewhere... A handle shouldn't be to hard to make.
Please do a vid on your pick and place machine. I'd love to see it going. I always wanted to have a small pick and place machine for hobby use.

@TheCrazyInventor It's really not worth making a handle when you can get a complete crap-pump pen with tips for a couple of quid on ebay - search "vacuum pen".
Will do a P&P vid next time I'm running a job on it.

@fredlllll Yeah, although the 3D vision of real life helps somewhat
