The volunteers of Operation Welcome Home (MD) gather on a cold, wintry evening at BWI-Marshall International Airport to greet active duty service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. A warm and rousing Welcome Home! chases the chill and reunites the returning troops with their families, loved ones, and friends. Goodie bags of bottled water and snacks are offered by Blue Star Mother volunteers and are complemented by Girl Scout cookies served up by local Girl Scout and Brownie troops.,

Hi! Have you received word on when your soldier will be returning this coming month? Please let us know so we can be there for him/her. You can reach me via direct email at dlynn9801@aol.com or our founder, Navy CAPT Kathy Thorp via email at navyfam6@comcast.net. Cheers, DAVE

  • i watched the whole thing.

we will do this with troop 38 on guam, usa for our returning troops!

  • Thank you! The participation of the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, CAP cadets, JROTC cadets, church youth groups, and school students are a vital part of providing a warm Welcome Home! to our returning men and women of the military. Best wishes for doing the same for our troops returning to Guam.

  • @Foxstab I havent forget nor forgiven those who mistreated any vets coming home including my brothers from the Vietnam era...

  • @sigmiami Don't forget Vietname's chilly as frozen hell 'welcome' home. This is truly heartwarming and how a country should accept back its fighting sons & daughters.

  • That's awesome, things like that make a difference. when we got back from Bosnia & Kosovo we could have used something like this... I'm glad people are more conscious about our military personnel and about PTSD and its life long impact ...

  • You May not want to admit this: But every Man,Woman,Boy and Girl who took the time out of thier busy schedules to Welcome home these Heroes are Heroes themselves.I was unable to welcome home my brother from Iraq because I was threatened that I would loose my job by the manager. I went to Corporate to complain and they immediately changed the policy. My Hope is that you continue to do this until All of our Heroes are home safely. GOD BLESS YOU ALL
