  • @adonist7 Yes, that is a good observation but you see there is a cultural dynamic in play. First of all he is much older than Padma so he is not really required to say please, moreover this is a bit of a teacher and student setting where the teacher is not required to say please. This is culturally appropriate in India.

    you need more schooling bro.

    the word 'please' is built into Urdu like '' tum'' and ''app'' and 'mujhe do'' or mujhe dein''.

    its does not need repetition every time but if you do use it and it is used by good mannered people it is better
