  • The Alberta tar sands are a terrible, terrible thing. Makes the land polluted and useless. A shame. I don't care what you say. The land cannot be changed back to how it was; green and breathing. The big corporate interests don't care about anything but profit. Hopefully all the petroleum industry subsidies instigated by Stephen Harper and his conservative blind/dumb cronies will end soon enough.

How can you be a shareholder supporting the Alberta tar sands and not feel bad?

I am realizing the value of comments like the one you are rebutting. Really, it is time for us environmentalists to become real technicians with real solutions to meeting global energy demands. Criticizing the dominant system is easy. I do it too. But what are the real alternatives? We need to lead the way somehow.

  • I agree, it is time that we change. So my family (with little kids) sold the car and now we

cycle 90 percent of the time and if we need a car we take the coop car. It is time we take action, ourself. It is not easy, but possible. In this way, we educate the next generation. Let us only hope that it is not too late. Watch Food Inc., the 11th hour or Gasland to change. We did, and we are healthier, happier and have kids who are very concerned, like us.

  • So few people are aware of this. We talk about wanting change, but change will come when enough people are educated about monstrosities such as this going on in our world, and demand for it to stop. Write to the people in power, tell your friends. Why should some celebrity video have more views than this?

  • @R4gN4r0k478 Im with you!!

  • @dontpanicjack The answers are there. Our "Harper" government must change it's imperialistic oil investing attitudes before we are "allowed" to explore these alternatives. Search "Four Ways to Solve the Energy Crisis"

There is also FREE perpetual energy, but with no money in it, the truth will be vigorously suppressed. Complacent consumers need realize their "creature comforts" are responsible and BE THE CHANGE.

  • @erockjmet Im very sorry for you because i understand you are just trying to protect you're job and you dont want to be seen as a bad person, and you probably aren't, but just because they clean up oil spills and what have you, doesnt mean you see what goes on for real. You're just middle management, cutting down an entire pronvince's forest just so we can have another 50 years of oil doesnt help anyone.

  • @erockjmet instead of being released into space. the sun heats up the gas and the cycle continues. The earth gets hotter, weather patterns change, drought occurs which causes forest fires, letting even more carbon into the atmosphere. all these things affect each other, the earth is all connected, if you dont think so then you are ignorant and selfish person. Not giving a shit doesnt mean things arent happeneing, it only makes you part of the problem and not part of the solution.

  • @erockjmet global warming does not mean that everywhere will be hot, actually it really means that places that are cold will be colder and places that are hot will be hotter, or even places that are usually hot will be cold and visa versa. Even if global warming is not caused by humans,(unlikely) it is still occuring weather you like it or not. Increased tempurature causes the icecaps to melt, releasing even more carbon into the air, more carbon means more gasses get trapped in the atmosphere.

  • @tysontomaszewicz

actually you are wrong, scientists say that the ozone is capable of repairing itself in 50 years, that is if all the countries in the world ban ozone depleting chemicals and that's as long as they actually stick to the ban. And that number is also depending on weather and temperature as well, things that are affected by greenhouse gas emissions.

  • @tysontomaszewicz No it isn't.

  • @bodysnatcher1988 Actually that hole in the ozone is pretty much repaired. NIce try tho
