Hurricane DONNA SCOURGES SEABOARD: Hurricane Donna, after its deadly course through the Caribbean and the heart of Florida, slashes up the Atlantic Coast. The killer storm brushes New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area with gale force winds and torrential rains, then hits eastern Long Island with full force, and batters on into New England following closely the track of the disastrous 1938 hurricane. One of the most destructive tropical storms in history, Donna takes a heavy toll.
